Abstract:Conjugated coordination polymers (CCPs), which are considered as special conductive MOFs (cMOFs), have aroused increasing interest in electrical-related applications owing to their predictable topological structures, excellent electrical conductivity, intrinsic redox activity and high stability. In this review, we will first demonstrate the superiority of CCPs as multifunctional materials in applications for electrochemical energy storage based on a comprehensive study of their chemical and structural properties. Then, the utilization of CCPs as electroactive materials in batteries and supercapacitors is presented, with emphasis on the recent progress in the study of structure-property relationships. Additionally, the potential to further broaden the application of CCPs in lithium-sulfur and metal-air batteries by exploiting their inherent physical and chemical properties are summarized. Finally, the challenges and possible strategies of CCPs for energy storage are addressed, which may provide valuable information and insights for future applications of CCPs in electrochemical energy storage systems.
